Performance Crossings je festival zaměřující se na performance art a příbuzné umělecké formy, který otevírá dialog mezi umělci*umělkyněmi a diváky, mezi myšlenkami a jejich zpracováním. Základním předpokladem stejně jako jedním z hlavních cílů Performance Crossings je mezilidské-meziumělecké setkání sbližující lidi z různých zemí. Vedle uměleckých prezentací se festival zaměřuje na vzájemné propojování a sdílení zkušeností, poznatků a perspektiv, skrze které se můžeme vztahovat k umění a světu kolem nás. Mezinárodnost, diverzita a společně trávený čas jsou pilíře, na nichž festival vznikl a které jsou jeho neoddělitelnou součástí.
Pro čtvrtý ročník festivalu jsme se rozhodli zrušit fyzickou účast všech mezinárodních umělců*umělkyň a vytvořit epicentrum Performance Crossings s umělci*umělkyněmi žijícími výhradně v České republice. Avšak snaha zachovat mezinárodnost festivalu stále zůstává jedním z hlavních cílů.
Kvůli propuknutí koronavirové pandemie a s nimi spojenými restrikcemi byla pozměněna dramaturgie festivalu.

Performance Crossings 2020 s ohledem na výše zmíněné proběhne ve dvou fázích:
1][ 11. – 13. červena 2020 proběhne umělecká část festivalu Performance Crossings za fyzické účasti umělců*umělkyň žijících v ČR. Mezinárodní program bude dislokován do míst působení jednotlivých umělců*umělkyň. Cílem mezinárodní programové sekce bude snaha prezentovat individuální uměleckou praxi a zároveň vytvořit, experimentovat a prototypovat (fyzický) (myšlenkový) (metaforický) kontakt s děním v Praze bez možnosti fyzického setkání. Cílem pražských aktivit bude nabídnout divákům prezentaci lokálních umělců*umělkyň a zároveň vytvořit prostředí pro reprezentaci mezinárodních umělců.
2][ 22. – 23. srpena 2020 se uskuteční dvoudenní konference otevřená všem participujícím umělcům*umělkyním Performance Crossings, divákům i širší umělecké komunitě, pro kterou se otázka nalézání nových principů tvorby vztahů stává klíčovou. Konference se ve svém obsahu bude zaměřovat na diskuze o formátech vytváření dislokované umělecké-divácké komunity, reprezentace živého umění bez možnosti fyzické přítomnosti a zároveň bude reflexí první části festivalu a dokumentací procesu a konceptů možností propojení.

Performance Crossings is a performance art and related art form festival that opens a dialogue between artists and spectators, between ideas and their processing. The basic prerequisite, as well as one of the main goals of Performance Crossings, is an interpersonal meeting between people from different countries. In addition to artistic presentations, the festival focuses on interconnecting and sharing experiences, knowledge and perspectives through which we can relate to art and the world around us. Internationality, diversity and time spent together are the pillars on which the festival was founded, and which are an integral part of it.
For the fourth year of the festival, we have decided to cancel the physical participation of all international artists and create the epicentre of Performance Crossings exclusively with artists living in the Czech Republic. However, the effort to preserve the internationality of the festival remains one of the main goals.

In view of the above, Performance Crossings 2020 will take place in two phases:
1][ June 11th – 13th, 2020 will be the artistic part of Performance Crossings festival with the physical participation of artists living in the Czech Republic. The international program will be dispersed to the locations of individual artists. The aim of the international program section will be to present individual artistic practice while creating, experimenting and prototyping (physical) (conceptual) (metaphoric) contact with events in Prague without the possibility of physical encounters. The aim of Prague activities will be to offer spectators a presentation of local artists while creating an environment for the representation of international artists.
2][ August 22nd – 23rd, 2020, a two-day conference will be held, open to all participating artists, Performance Crossings artists, audience and the wider art community, for all of whom the question of exploring new connections and relations is becoming crucial. In its content, the conference will focus on discussions about the relations of a dislocated art-audience community and the representation of live art without the possibility of physical presence, and will also reflect on the first part of the festival and document the process and concepts of connectivity.
